Welcome to the Geoffrey Whitworth Theatre – a thriving amateur theatre with a rich heritage and a bold mission: to stage the best of classic and contemporary drama. Founded in 1948 and named after one of theatre’s most passionate advocates, we now have over 1,000 members supporting our work.
With a spacious 150-seat auditorium, a welcoming bar, and a dedicated creative team, GWT presents a full season of high-quality productions each year. Our diverse programme and inclusive ethos keep theatre alive, accessible, and inspiring for all.
