Maskers Studio Theatre

Welcome to Maskers Theatre Company – proudly producing high-quality theatre in Southampton since 1968. From our roots as a touring group of twelve passionate performers, we’ve grown into one of the South’s leading non-professional theatre companies, now with over 120 members and our own flexible studio theatre in Shirley. Whether you love traditional drama, modern plays, or something more adventurous, there’s always something exciting happening on our stage.

Our studio theatre may seat just 40, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in creativity. We regularly transform the space – from suburban gardens to railway platforms – and experiment with different layouts to give our audiences a truly immersive experience. With professional-standard lighting, sound, and set design, every Maskers production is made with care, imagination and skill. And our lively open-air shows have been a much-loved summer fixture for over 30 years.

Maskers is more than a theatre company – we’re a welcoming creative community. New members are always encouraged to get involved, whether on stage, backstage, front of house, or in technical and creative roles.
