The Barn Theatre, Oxted

Barn Theatre, a true gem nestled right here in the heart of our community! Stepping inside is like stepping back in time, not just because our beautiful building, purpose-built in 1924, is largely crafted from the timbers of a local 13th-century saw-mill, but because it still buzzes with the same vibrant community spirit it was designed for. We’re incredibly proud to continue linking the bustling town of Oxted with the charming village of Limpsfield, serving as a cherished hub for social events and entertainment.

Over the decades, our intimate 244-seat auditorium has played host to an incredible array of talent. Imagine, legendary figures like Dame Flora Robson and Ronnie Corbett have ‘trodden the boards’ right here, sharing their magic with local audiences! Today, that rich tradition continues, as we proudly showcase plays, musical evenings, and a delightful variety of other entertainments, brought to life by both resident and visiting local societies.

What makes the Barn truly special is that it’s lovingly run and maintained entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers. Their passion and tireless efforts have transformed our beloved theatre, adding countless technical and aesthetic improvements over the years.
