The Queen Mother Theatre opened in 1983 and has three rehearsal rooms and two performance spaces. The Bancroft Players were formed in 1945 and built the theatre with help from local businesses. We produce around 13 shows each year in both spaces. There is an open-air theatre attached to the site that is used for summer Shakespearean productions and we are a Community Theatre, supporting local creative groups in Film, Comedy and one off locally written productions.
