Welcome to Guide Bridge Theatre – a vibrant, volunteer-led hub for drama and community in the heart of Tameside. Founded in 1940 and based in Audenshaw since 1972, GBT produces a wide range of theatre, from classic plays to contemporary stories, and offers a warm welcome to all.
GBT is proud to be a creative home for people of all backgrounds and abilities. We support community groups of all ages, host the UK’s longest-running arts group for adults with mental health and learning disabilities, and partner with organisations like Made by Mortals to bring inclusive, imaginative projects to life.
Awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service in 2020, we’ve continued to grow – upgrading our space with help from the Prosper North project and cultural regeneration funding. Whether you want to watch, take part or volunteer, there’s always something happening at GBT.
