Nestled in the heart of Stroud, the Cotswold Playhouse is a vibrant and welcoming hub for local theatre lovers and creative spirits. Home to The Cotswold Players – an award-winning amateur company with over a century of history – the Playhouse is a fully equipped and beautifully maintained space that punches well above its weight. With a 152-seat auditorium, a stylish bar and lounge, a dance studio, and professional-standard tech throughout, it’s no wonder their shows regularly sell out and win acclaim across the region.

Run entirely by volunteers, we are a close-knit, passionate community of theatre-makers. From classics to comedy, musicals to new writing, our five or six in-house productions each year offer something for everyone . We also take our work into the wider community, popping up at local festivals, churches, breweries and schools, proudly flying the flag for amateur theatre at its best.
