LTG National Conference 2025: 27 – 29 June Royalty Theatre, Sunderland

Sunday morning presentation – from Professors Helen Nicholson, Anne-marie Greene (Criterion Theatre), and Kay Hepplewhite who updated delegates on their work on theatres and Local Communities. The presentation is HERE.

The event will start on Friday evening 27 June and end at lunchtime on Sunday 29 June. Delegates will have the opportunity to see a production of The Wedding Singer on Saturday evening. Do not book your tickets for this event. The conference theme will be hiring of theatres and the Keynote speaker on Sunday morning is Helen Nicholson, Professor of Theatre and Performance, Royal Holloway, University of London who will speak more about her research project – Theatre in Coastal Towns.

Hotels and Travel HERE is Information about the Hotels and Travel. the theatre is a 9 min walk from the Travelodge Sunderland Central and Premier Inn City Centre and 14 min walk from the Holiday Inn Sunderland City Centre. The Royalty Theatre is in the heart of Sunderland and you can find it on Google Maps HERE. It is a 16 minute walk from Sunderland Train Station where there is also a Metro which takes you directly to Newcastle main line station.

Parking – there is no parking at the theatre and very limited on-street parking in the vicinity.

79th Annual General Meeting of the LTG 2025

The DRAFT Minutes of the AGM are HERE. They will remain a draft until they are agreed at the 80th AGM at the Crescent Theatre, 15 – 17 May 2026.

The Conference programme above confirms that the 79th LTG AGM and Open Forum will be held on Saturday at 14:45 – 16:15. Below are the necessary AGM papers for delegates and theatre members to read. No paper copies will be made available at the meeting so If delegates would like a paper copy they should bring it along, or read the documents on their smartphone, tablet or PC.
