The LTG will celebrate its 80th anniversary in May 2026 at the Crescent Theatre, Birmingham. Put the date in your diary now and help LTG celebrate this great anniversary. The National Committee propose the following programme and they are working in conjunction with hosts the Crescent Theatre, Birmingham. We really hope the early sight of our outline programme will encourage you to attend this Anniversary Conference.
Friday 15 May
18:30 – onwards: register at The Old Rep, next to New Street Station. Tours will be available at The Old Rep on Friday evening and at The Crescent on Saturday morning.
20:00 – Social Supper at The Old Rep followed by entertainment from Crescent Youth Theatre. There will also be excerpts performed by their Come From Away cast and the bar will be open.
Saturday 16 May
Youth Theatre Festival – running alongside our Conference will be a Youth Theatre Festival in the Crescent Theatre. Approx. 12 Groups from LTG Members’ Youth Theatres will stage short 20 minute performances. Delegates are welcome to watch these at any point during the day.
Yearbook advertisers – also in attendance in the main bar will be representatives from some of our Yearbook advertisers and they will be available in all breaks for discussions with delegates.
08:00 – Breakfast rolls will be available at The Crescent and registration will reopen. Following the welcome, you will be able to attend 2 out of the 4 workshops during the morning. The options are:
- Vocal Techniques for Young People,
- Neurodiversity,
- PRS/PPL – The Music License
- Paying Staff
Lunch
Post-lunch
- ‘In Conversation’ with Graham Liverton, NODA‘s Immediate Past President.
- Keynote presentation from Joshua McTaggart, CEO of the Theatres Trust.
Down time to relax and change
18:00 – Watch Little Wars in the Ron Barber Studio at The Crescent.
Gala Dinner
This will be held on stage in the Crescent and the bar will remain open afterwards.
Sunday 17 May
09:00 – Breakfast rolls will be available
10:00 – LTG AGM in the Main House.
11:30 – ‘In Conversation with an Actor’. If available, LTG Patron Jessica will host and we may keep the actor as a surprise. We don’t yet know who it will be but are planning on somebody well known for stage and screen.
There are several reasonably priced hotels in and around Brindley Place such as the Hilton Garden Inn; the Novotel; the Travelodge; and the Premier Inn. Further details will follow. Bookings will open in early February.
