The LTG Youth Theatre Festival, organised by Jo Matthews and fully supported by the Crescent Theatre was a great success. We’d like to share some images and comments received from the youth theatre leaders and those involved in the event.

Dawn P Jones, Medway Little Theatre
All the thanks and congratulations go to Kerrie, Kairn, Derek, Dave, Libby, and of course the youth team.

Becca and all the KRYPT team at The Rose Theatre
I hope you have recovered after all the excitement of yesterday! I wanted to email you to say a huge thank you for everything you did to pull the day together. It must have been a Herculean task but we all appreciated it so much; our members had a blast and went home so excited to share their day with their families. I’m so glad we were able to bring them – a day they won’t forget any time soon.

Pauline Armour, AD Bromley Theatre
Thank you so much Jo. Our young people really enjoyed the experience and we value the opportunity that the LTG gave to us.

Barbara Upton, Young Lit, Doncaster Little Theatre
Thank you Jo for organising this celebration to give our young people the opportunity to perform in front of their peers.
My small group really enjoyed the experience and learned a lot from it. It was a good day for all concerned. Here’s to the next eighty years.

Cate and all at Theatretrain Coventry
Thank you so much for inviting us to be a tiny part of yesterday and many congratulations to all the other wonderful performers whose performances we so thoroughly enjoyed. I hope today was a tremendous success and that you now get a very well-earned rest.

Richard, Hall Green Youth Theatre
A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising and managing the event. My YT Members were delighted to have been involved, and the opportunity to watch other YTs has given us plenty to think about too. Let’s hope we can all do it again in the future. Meanwhile, I’ve now landed myself with a script and a musical to write!

Mark Buckley, People’s Theatre Newcastle
The Young People’s Theatre really enjoyed performing the first half of The Trials for everyone in the room, and benefitted from the experience of performing on a different stage, adapting as they went through their performance to the stage and space, and learnt a lot.
Thank you for all the hard work and communication you put in to making the Youth Theatre performances such a successful way to spend a Saturday, and sorry that it was such a brief conversation between us before we did our performance.

Anne-marie Greene, Criterion Theatre
What a fabulous experience for our team from the Criterion, some of whom had never performed before on a stage. It was such a great experience for them to play on another (much much bigger stage) and learn how to adapt and improvise when things went wrong ( a lot!)
It was so brilliant to watch all the other companies and what a range of theatre we saw.
