Safeguarding Meeting 7 Nov 2025

This event was held on TEAMS.

A recording of tonight’s meeting is HERE with the password LTG2025 and an AI generated transcript of the meeting is HERE.

Suzanne noted that “I met with Matthew Gabrielli, an award-winning neurodivergent writer for stage, screen and funding applications. Currently based in Birmingham but originally from the North-West. He is interested in speculative fiction, weird tales and folklore. He loves these genres because they are big populace dramas driven by ideas. Matthew likes to play with and dismantle genre conventions to find new meanings in old stories that are timely, personal and imaginative.

Matthew’s debut play ZOMBIEGATE premiered at Theatre 503 in November 2022, proving to be a hit with audiences and critics alike, with WhatsOnStage describing it as a “compelling new play: smart, gripping, cautionary and bang-up-to-date”. My play FOOL’S GOLD won the Lancaster Playwriting Prize 2023.

As well as his writing he also works across the arts sector providing marketing, fundraising and project management services. Suzanne noted that he champions the neurodiverse community and was a pleasure to have at one of our meetings. If you watch the recording and have any further questions or enquiries for Matthew please let me know.

We believe that by working together, we can strengthen safeguarding practices across our local theatres and ensure that every individual feels safe and valued within our community.
