Welcome to two new member theatres, Thame Players Theatre Company and Nantwich Players

The Thame Players Theatre Company are in Nelson Street, Thame, Oxfordshire and their web address is www.thameplayers.co.uk

The group was established in 1944, and acquired its present premises (a former church hall) in 1977. Five productions a year are mounted in an auditorium with a capacity of 119. Recent productions have included It Runs in the Family, The Deep Blue Sea, Blithe Spirit and An Inspector Calls, with many one-night events and cinema shows in between. It also hosts events for the Thame Arts & Literature Festival each year. The theatre is now closed for a summer of building work to deliver a better theatre, re-opening with Quartet in September. Much Ado About Nothing, was the summer show in the grounds of The Elms. Thame Players will be joining the Southern Region.

The Nantwich Players are in Love Lane, Nantwich, Cheshire and their web address is www.nantwichplayers.com

The group was established in 1927, and moved into the present theatre premises in 1983. The building was an old Quaker Meeting House built in 1724, and leased to the Players as a scenery store, until demolition was threatened. The Players bought it, restored and converted it between 1977 and 1983.

There is a seating capacity of 82, and 7 productions a year are mounted, including one devoted to the Youth Theatre. Productions recently have included Death of a Salesman, The Lonesome West, Hindle Wakes, and Rough Justice. Nantwich Players will be joining the Northern Region.
