A survey of all LTG Member theatres from the 2021 – 2022 Season in the 2022 – 2023 LTG Yearbook shows a very wide range in ticket prices and membership fees. The average pre- concession seat price is £18.38 and post concession is £14.50, although not all theatres responded to the request for information. The price range is from £8 up to £20, after concessions the range is £6 up to £16. The way in which concessions are structured means that comparisons are difficult.

Membership is equally fraught with a range from £0 up to £70 and post concession, the range is £0 up to £40 but the same caveat applies regarding reliability of comparisons. There are also regional variations which impact on these figures.

This is intended as a possible basic for discussion within your theatre. It is difficult to think about raising prices during a time of hardship but if you can form a strategy that suits your theatre so much the better. Do not sell yourselves, and all those who work in your theatre, short.
