In November, the Theatres Trust announced the first 20 theatres supported through their Theatre Reopening Fund HERE. This included two LTG Theatres.
In early December, the Theatres Trust announce details of a further 15 theatres HERE to receive grants to help with re-opening expenses. This time, recipients included LTG theatres The Tower in Stoke Newington, The Barn in Welwyn Garden City and Blackfriars Arts Centre, Boston.
The Tower LTG Rep Nicola Stanhope confirmed that the grant was for just under £4,500 and they received all they asked for. The Theatres Trust explains that the funds are to cover the cost of sneeze screens, hand sanitisers, digital thermometers and e-ticket scanners which, the Theatres Trust note, are likely to be long-term requirements.
The Theatre Reopening Fund gives grants of up to £5,000 to help not-for-profit theatres across the UK to make COVID-19 related adaptions and prepare for reopening. It has been so successful that they are, for the moment at least, no longer accepting applications.
