Thame Players have sent a press release to spread the word about the grant they have received from Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust.
“A grant awarded by Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust has enabled Thame Players, the only dedicated entertainment venue serving Thame, Haddenham and the villages, to acquire new equipment which will improve sound quality and range for all shows at the Players Theatre.
The new amplifiers and subwoofer are part of a project to improve sound quality in the theatre, which had been inadequate, especially for bands, who either had to bring their own kit or were underwhelmed by the equipment in the theatre. The improved sound quality will also benefit Thame Players’ own productions and other visiting acts such as comedy performances. It means that audiences will enjoy an enhanced entertainment experience, with sound comparable to professional entertainment venues.
Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust is a charity which exists to make contributions to local organisations and charities that serve Haddenham and local surrounding communities. Summerfest and Winterfest, their two beer festivals, have been increasingly successful over the years and the surpluses from both events are redistributed, generally in the form of grants, to local organisations and charities whose existence better the lives of the communities of Haddenham and surrounding areas.
David Finch, one of the trustees of Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust, said, “It is fantastic for Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust to be able to support Thame Players with a grant for new speakers. Our aim is to support local organisations who truly benefit the local community and in that regard Thame Players and the Players Theatre tick every box”.
Wayne Gibson, a trustee with Thame Players, said, “We have been lacking low-end sound capabilities which the grant from Haddenham Beer Festivals Trust corrects. The new subwoofer will be excellent for adding dramatic effect and for hosting bands. Thanks to this very generous grant, we will be able to produce the classic ‘rumble’ effect that you get with drums, deep bass, thunder effects and more.”
