The weekend is perfect for those wishing to develop their performance skills and learn more about how our actors prepare, rehearse and perform. The event promises to be an unforgettable theatre experience working in our own rehearsal rooms and on stage.© Topher McGrillis Browse and license our imagesThe sessions will focus on our approach to performing Shakespeare as well as looking at a wide range of performance techniques suitable for other texts. The workshops will be useful to anyone wishing to develop their performing skills for modern or classical productions, and all abilities and levels of experience are welcome. Sessions are also suitable for directors wishing to expand their experience of performance techniques.
The four workshops will be led by RSC practitioners and industry professionals and will cover the following areas:
· Voice and Text (with RSC Voice Practitioner Michael Corbidge)· Movement· Acting for the stage· Stage Combat (with RSC Stage Combat Instructor Tom Jordan).As well as the workshops, your ticket also includes:
- Directing Masterclass
- Backstage tour of our theatres

Early booking is recommended as places are limited. Not available online.Those who have taken part in previous Big Amateur Weekends or participated in RSC Open Stages (our UK wide project engaging with amateur theatre makers) are very welcome and will be offered new workshops to further develop their skills.
