Requiesce in pace, Ann Mattey,

Kate Robbins, LTG Representative from The Oast Theatre, Tonbridge writes with sad news. Many LTG Members will remember Ann with great affection and she has been an Honorary Associate of many years standing.

“We are very sad to inform you that beloved Oast member, Ann Mattey, has passed away.

Ann Mattey died peacefully in her sleep on 13th August in the Ellenor Hospice, Gravesend, just four months after her husband (Mike Mattey).

Ann and Mike had been members of The Oast Theatre Tonbridge for many years. Ann was the Oast Representative for the Little Theatre Guild for years including when the Oast hosted the Little Theatre Guild Annual Conference which Sir Ian McKellen attended. There is a photograph of the two of them behind the bar.

Mike and Ann acted in a lot of productions over the years at The Oast and Ann directed many in particular the tri-theatre productions with fellow LTG theatres Lewes and Archway. I am sure they will be remembered very fondly by all.

Ann’s funeral will be held at the Bluebell Cemetery, Old London Road, Halsted, Sevenoaks, TN14 7AE on Wednesday 13th September at 12.30pm – afterwards at The Three Horseshoes Pub and Restaurant, The Pound, Main Road, Knockholt, TN14 7LD.”
