The AITA/IATA World Festival of Amateur Theatre is held every four years in Monaco. It is a the most prestigious of the AITA/IATA World Festivals and the are looking for groups to perform. Could you represent the UK?
You will have the cost of food and accommodation paid for ten people for four nights. If you wish to stay longer you do so at your own expense, and the accommodation provided is reasonably priced. You are met at Nice airport and they look after you from there.
The piece can be no longer than 60 minutes and ideally have an element of physical theatre or involve music and or dance. It needs to be understandable by an international audience, not all of whom have good English. There are videos of each day’s events on the AITA/IATA website and HERE is an example of just one (which includes the arrival of the UK group from The Questors). There are workshops in which group members can take part and tours of Monaco as well as the Red and White ball and the final farewell party.
Information about the festival and the application forms are on the AITA/IATA Website HERE. The deadline for applications is 30 September 2020. If you want to know more, contact Anne Gilmour, a member of the UK National Centre of AITA/IATA who will provide advice and support if a group wants to put forward a production.
